RAB receives contribution to Girinka Program by the Rwandan community living in Jylland and Fyn, Denmark (copy 1)

On Thursday, 14thMarch, 2019 Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board (RAB) was honored by the visit of Her Excellence Christine NKULIKIYINKA, the Ambassador of Rwanda in Nordic countries based in Stockholm, Sweden, who transmitted a contribution of the Rwandan community living in Jylland and Fyn, Denmark to the Girinka Program. Rwandans of Jylland and Fyn had pledged to His Excellence the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame, a contribution to the Girinka Program, during the Rwanda Day event held in 2015 in the Netherlands.The Ambassador handed to Dr. Solange UWITUZE (Deputy Director General in charge of Animal Resources Research & Technology Transfer/RAB) €2,110,equivalent to three(3)cross breed pregnant heifers and their package which includes medicines and salt blocks for 6 months.The Rwandan Community living in Jylland and Fyn were issued a certificate of appreciation in recognition of their contribution to Girinka Program, and a mark of their honored commitment to His Excellence the President of the Republic of Rwanda.The event was also an opportunity to converse on the background of Girinka program, and its impact in social protection, poverty alleviation and national prosperity. Girinka program was initiated by His Excellence the President of the Republic of Rwanda Paul Kagame in 2006 as one of the home-grown social protection initiatives to fight malnutrition and poverty. To date 347,413 have been distributed to low income families.
