From 10th to 13th November, 2022, the Rwanda Agriculture and Animal Resources Development Board, through the Open Forum on Agricultural Biotechnology, OFAB- Rwanda Chapter, Conducted a National Youth in Agribusiness Workshop on Biotechnology.

The workshop brought together local youths in agribusiness to map, evaluate, and share opportunities, challenges and expertise in the agricultural biotechnology sector and promote science-based agriculture and farm productivity.

According to Dr. Athanase Nduwumuremyi, the OFB’s country coordinator, the workshop aims at expanding knowledge and awareness among the youth about modern agricultural biotechnology and to foster and support youth with innovative solutions to problems in the agricultural sector through integrating biotechnology, and to develop the skills of young people in order to be able to deal with the most pressing issues hindering agricultural advancement in Rwanda.
